Emmy nominated actor Michael O’Leary was a 25-year veteran actor on the longest running show in broadcast history, CBS’s Guiding Light, appearing as fan favorite Dr. Rick Bauer. In addition, he was a three-time nominee for Best Actor for the Soap Opera Digest Awards.
Michael majored in television production at California State University at Fullerton, but his career goal was acting. Toward that end, he studied with highly respected acting teachers Bill Esper, Larry Moss, and the legendary Stella!
Michael’s credits include the Emmy nominated role of Doctor Rick Bauer in the longest running show in broadcast history ‘The Guiding Light’. Michael other credits include recurring role of Dr. Stewart Farmingham on the popular ABC series Doogie Howser, M.D. and Paul in It’s a Small World, which is part of an anthology series produced by David Lynch for HBO.
Most recently, Michael landed the recurring role of Father Hogan on the new Dick Wolf series Law & Order: Organized Crime. He has just completed the lead role of Papa Williams in the motion picture The Glorious Resurrection of Claire Owens and now has a major role in the popular Halloween horror film franchise, portraying Dr. Lee Mathis in the fall 2022 release of Halloween Ends.
Michael’s propensity to playing antagonists continues with his lead role as a racist real-estate developer ‘Charles Marshall in Terror Lake Drive, now seen on Amazon Prime. Most recently, Michael just completed two lead roles in ‘The Boy Under the Sink’ and ‘My Former Husband’ which both finished principal photography in June/2024 and are set to debut in early 2025.
As a playwright, Michael’s first play, Breathing Under Dirt, is being considered for a Broadway run under the direction of Larry Moss. Michael recently completed his second play, Red Rain, which explores the themes of war and peace that collide within a family during the Vietnam War.
