Jennifer Carta grew up in Essex, CT and went to Northeastern University (in Boston, MA), graduating magna cum laude proud, with a BA in drama.
She was accepted in the acting apprentice program at Actor’s Theatre of Louisville.
After this she moved to New York City and pounded the pavement. She immersed herself in workshops and labs and interning at The Atlantic Theatre Company, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Tuesdays@9 with the Naked Angels, to name a few. She did any play she could, some great, some not so great but all gave her experiences that are priceless.
After this she got her first Law & Order booking followed by her first theatrical booking with “Kissing Jessica Stein” Her first professional theatre job in an off-Broadway play at New York Theatre Workshop, and then her Broadway debut in Warren Leight’s Tony Award winning play, SIDE MAN, directed by the incomparable, Michael Mayer
She then moved to Los Angeles where she continued to work in numerous television shows and films. However, most people recognise her as Tori’s Mom from Nickelodeon's VicTORIous.
