Melanie Chartoff is an American Voice and Film & TV actress, who began her career on Broadway in "Scapino" and "Via Galactica," and Off-Broadway in "the Proposition" (an entirely improvised musical revue with Jane Curtin, Fred Grande, and Josh Mostel), played Jennifer in a revival of "Do I Hear a Waltz;" and meanwhile performed a stand-up and comedy song act at the Improv Clubs in NY, and later in LA.
Melanie is perhaps best known for voicing Did Pickles and her mother Minka, as well as Reptar's singing, ice-skating wife on the long-running cartoon series Rugrats. She continued to play these roles in the spin-off All Grown Up and the Rugrats feature films.
She is a lifelong stage (off and on Broadway), and television series actor, (Fridays, Seinfeld and the Final Seinfeld, Wiseguy, Married with Children, Touched by an Angel, Wonder Woman, Newhart, Weird Science).
She's also remembered for creating the role of the madwoman principal Ms. Musso on Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Her additional cartoon performances can be heard on Jumanji, OK,KO, and Tak and the Power of Juju.
